Sometimes, Koreans Can Give Western Fantasy A Shot In The Arm

Maybe it’s because Western artists are dealing with a genre that’s so close to their own culture and history (or at least close to it), but there’s a reason the majority (though not all!) of fantasy art ends up looking the same. It tends to stick too close to the real deal.(new Image()).src = 'https://capi.connatix.com/tr/si?token=995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c&cid=872d12ce-453b-4870-845f-955919887e1b'; cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c" }).render("79703296e5134c75a2db6e1b64762017"); }); Unless it’s some tripped-out dark magic shit, what you see in the design of everything from huts to swords in games like Skyrim and The Witcher tends to look just like their historical counterparts. It can get Y1 Games a little… boring. Which is why I love the take artists from places like Korea tend to have on the genre, taking Western fantasy cliches and putting their own spin on them to create something a bit fresher. Y1 Games I’ve posted several examples of this previously, but the Y1 com latest is the work of Jeon JongUk, aka ENrang. Those castle and town environment shots are fantastic, but his character work—albeit with Y1 apk less flair for the original—isn’t far behind. https://kotaku.com/beautiful-video-game-art-direct-from-korea-5903644 You can see more of Jeon’s work at his personal site (thanks Concept Root!) To see the larger pics Y1 com in all their glory (or, if they’re big enough, so you can save them as wallpaper), right-click on them below and select “open in new tab”. Fine Art is a celebration Y1 apk of the work of video game artists, showcasing the best of both their professional and personal portfolios.
